The techniques of the program utilize people’s core strengths to help maximize potential, by providing practical tools to overcome adversity and thrive in their personal and professional lives.
Through this program, we address different types of traumas – not only significant, life altering events like abuse and violence, but also other common forms of trauma, such as generational trauma, parenting mistakes, social miscues, and more – all while applying a wide range of techniques to support trauma recovery. The program is designed to help you grow by fostering virtues such as courage, interpersonal skills, insight, hope, capacity for pleasure, putting difficulties in perspective, looking towards the future, and finding your purpose. We promote this growth by helping you to first identify, and then access and build your unique strengths throughout the program.
After the initial assessment each session begins by reviewing your progress from the last meeting, followed by the introduction and learning of new material and exercises, and concludes with a plan for implementation. We incorporate approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and Positive Psychology, that help you to overcome negative thinking, develop a more accepting attitude to life, and utilize core strengths to develop your resilience repertoire.
