Support and Recovery from Dr. Marc Shulman
The mind is an incredible organ. It processes information. It triggers emotions. It helps your body move and react. But like any machine, it needs regular maintenance. In many ways, that’s what psychotherapy is, and why it is such a valuable tool for those that are struggling with their happiness or mental health.
What is Psychotherapy?
Psychotherapy is so much more than just a way to talk through problems. It is a way to discover more about yourself, and to find a part of you that can help you not only overcome a challenge, but also grow as a person.
In my Long Island offices, we use a type of psychotherapy known as “Dynamic Experiential Learning.” It integrates some of the most well known and effective psychotherapies, including:
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
- Psychodynamic Therapy
- Positive Psychology
What makes Dynamic Experiential Learning (DEL) different is that it is focuses on you as an individual, and allows the psychologist to look at issues like experiential learning: what experiences you’ve had in the past that have shaped how you see the world today, and what techniques can be completed right now to give you the strength, energy and emotional nourishment you need to more forward.
Taking the Time to Get To Know You
As a therapist in Long Island I focus on providing psychotherapy for both individuals and couples that are looking for self-reflection, growth and greater happiness.
My aim is to make sure that you’re given a safe space to talk about the issues that bother you, and I try to both guide you through your own recovery and wellness, as well as provide you with feedback and advice that helps change your thinking and teaches you more about the way you see the world.
I have offices in Garden City, NY, Rockville Centre, NY, and Lawrence, NY, and I believe that by getting to know you and integrating DEL into your psychotherapy sessions, we’ll be able to work through the challenges you face, help you grow as a person, and ultimately give you a better opportunity to experience a more fulfilling future.
