Treatment for Depression in NY
Depression is a common, powerful mental health challenge. It is also common throughout NY, with as many as 15% of the population diagnosed with depression, and more that may be struggling in silence.
Depression is often an empty feeling, and many people struggle alone. Our psychologists are available throughout New York state to provide both in person and remote therapy services to help you cope with depression, find relief, and improve your mental health.
We have two offices on Long Island, in Garden City and Rockville Centre, and because of our TeleHealth services we are licensed to provide therapy for depression anywhere in NY, including New York City, Buffalo, Albany, and anywhere else within state lines. Please give us a call at (516) 732-0273 if you’d like to reach us, or fill out our online form and we will respond as soon as possible.
Our Depression Therapy in NY
Depression can have many causes – and in some cases, no known cause at all. For some people it is genetic. For others, it is the result of various life experiences.
But no matter its cause, depression is also treatable.
Our approach to therapy for depression in NY is to treat you like an individual, and to tailor our services towards the solutions that seem to be best for the causes of your depression, the symptoms, your life history and personality, and more, in order to create an approach that is helpful for you as an individual.
Treating depression relies on trust and communication between you and your psychologist. It’s why we decided to start offering remote therapy in addition to our in-person Long Island psychologist services. We’re able to talk to you via video conferencing or on the phone, opening the door for clients located anywhere in New York to get the counseling and support they need. So even if you’re in NYC, Syracuse, Yonkers, Rochester, or any of the many small towns in NY without many local therapists, you can give us a call and we’ll support you via secure, safe technology.
We also have two offices in Nassau County on Long Island – one in Garden City and one in Rockville Centre – which means that we are conveniently located if you live in Hempstead, Oceanside, and even Queens. Our local patients are also welcome to use Telehealth if they prefer, especially during the coronavirus pandemic.
If you need a psychologist in NY, we’re here to help. All it takes is a call.
Types of Depression
Depression can be experienced in different ways. There are also different types of depression, including depression that doesn’t fit neatly into an existing category. Some of the types of depression include:
- Major Depressive Disorder
- Bipolar Disorder
- Seasonal Affective Disorder
- Depression Not Otherwise Specified
Even if your symptoms do not qualify as diagnosable depression, we believe that you still deserve help to make your life better.
